Description: GRBs are powerful explosions in the local and distant Universe. The BeppoSAX first and the Swift satellites later led to a revolution in the observation of these objects discovering new phenomena and making possible fast multi-wavelength follow-ups. The aim of this session is to discuss and to bring together both observers and theoreticians to bridge different views. We will focus on:

• X-ray flares and prolonged activity of the central engine
• Spectral evolution of the prompt emission and transition to afterglow
• Correlations and their implications
• Study of the circumburst medium
• Host galaxies
