"The Shocking Universe" conference is approaching and many scientists of the community have expressed their interest in joining the meeting. A preliminary list of people participating to the meeting can be found on the conference web page. You are invited to apply to present an oral contribution or a poster. Abstract submission can be done here (deadline: June 15):

Registration fee

We remind all participants that they should pay their registration fee before June 15. Part of this money will be used to support the expenses of a limited number of students and postdocs. The fees are as follows:

  • early payment (before June 15): 550 euro
  • late payment: 600 euro
The registration fee can be paid only by bank transfer or on-site by cash for late payments (with fees listed above). Credit cards, personal cheques and traveller's cheques are not accepted. Please avoid cash payment if possible. Here are the details for your International bank Transfer:

Accomodation

Poster competition

During the conference, an ad hoc committee will choose the best three posters from the presented posters. The three winners will be awarded an amount of 500 Euro each and will be asked to give a short (5 + 2 minutes) talk to present their work.

Student support: new deadline

As already announced, we plan to support conference expenses for a limited number of students or young researchers. Two levels of financial support are foreseen: the first will include the registration fee while the second will include the registration fee and the accomodation (from Sunday night to Saturday morning) in the S. Servolo guesthouse, in a double room.

To apply for the financial support we need the following information:

  • if you are a student (and which is the expected degree MS/PhD) or a postdoc;
  • a short description of your research activity or, if you are a Phd student, the subject of your thesis/dissertation;
  • the name of your supervisor or of the people you are working with;
  • your institution.
Motivated requests should be addressed to the secretary of the conference before May 20 at infomeeting@brera.inaf.it and will be evaluated by the scientific committee. Applicants will be notified by e-mail by June 1st.
