Following the report of the Time Allocation Working Group (TAWG) and its recommendations, ESO has started implementing a number of changes in the way the time requests are submitted and evaluated for its facilities. After a general introduction to the subject, I will illustrate the TAWG recommendations, the changes which have already been implemented, and the plans for the near future and the ELT era.
