On March 13th ALMA celebrated 10 years from its inauguration. This talk will review the key stages of its history, presenting the current operational status and main scientific results obtained so far. In the next decade, mayor developments for the whole ALMA system are already planned to offer to the users new groundbreaking observing capabilities. Future perspectives are then illustrated, together with the huge potential represented by the ALMA Science archive.
