Neutrinos deeply affect cosmological observables, both in the early Universe and at low redshift. Therefore, cosmology can provide stringent, yet model dependent, constraints on the number of neutrinos and on the neutrino mass sum. After reviewing current cosmological constraints on neutrino properties, I will discuss how scenarios beyond the Standard Model could relax cosmological bounds, easing the possible tension with ground-based neutrino experiments.
