The large scale distribution of galaxies provides a priceless fossil relic of events at the earliest moment of time, and its evolution unveils the nature of two dominant, yet mysterious, constituents of the Universe: the dark matter and the dark energy. In this talk, I shall describe the methods developed to tease out this information in various ways and their central role in supporting the current cosmological model.
